We did see a few dead crabs and one dead stingray. I guess good news is no news because they are no where to be found. We had to come up from the beach at 3:00pm because the rain moved in or we would still be out there now.

In this two part series, we will run down all the communities and things to do if you choose to take a day to see it all. First up on the stop down Hwy 30A is Gulf Place . One stop sign is all this community needs, with the beach on one side and town center on the other. Restaurants and shops line the ground level of this community area, with condos and housing above them. Here you can walk around to shop, visit Gulf Places newest tenant Shunk Gully 30A for some oysters, or have a drink at La Playa outside across from the water. We happen to love Growler Garage too if youre looking for a pet friendly place with craft beer. Moving on down 30A is Blue Mountain Beach a laid back area with 60s era beach cottages and modern waterfront mansions. She can also help rent a Jet Ski for you if you dont need the space of a boat. The perfect choice to get 1-2 people out there for the day, renting a Jet Ski can also mean youre not stuck at Crab Island all day You can buzz around and explore all sides of the Bay and even down to Okaloosa Island. Paddleboarding is a third way, but we dont recommend it unless youre a skilled boarder. The current gets strong near the Destin Bridge, and it can be a lot of work to paddle out there from shore Often deceiving because its farther than it looks. This is also why swimming is not advised nor recommended. The high level of boat traffic mixed with the changing tide and current makes it a nightmare for swimmers so pack a cooler and a towel, but find a safer way to arrive. New for Summer 2018, Crab Island Water Taxi has emerged as a new business, the first of its kind. Instead of having to rent a boat, jet ski or paddle board to get to Crab Island, this service shuttles individuals to and from their own private barge at Crab Island. With two pick up spots (on the Harbor and at The Gulf on Okaloosa Island), patrons can ride out on the boat in groups of six back and forth with boats leaving every 30 minutes. The cost is $20 per ticket or $40 for an all day pass. Guests will be given a wristband that will allow

Wow! What a great time. The condo has recently been updated and renovated. It was in perfect shape when we arrived. Terry is a great host and very accommodating. The condo had everything for our vacation, beautiful views right on the beach, walking distance to anything you need, the island trolley literally stops at the condo and its free! There are a restaurants literally on the beach where you stay so you are able to get food and drinks, you cant beat this condo. Definitely will be returning to this unit in the future! Some travellers complain that there are very few airlines that fly into SRQ and those airlines that do, require a transfer or stopover along the way. The limited number of restaurants and stores and their early closing hours, with some not open on the weekends. Another complaint is that there are not enough low budget airlines to book flights with. Well, flying into the Sarasota/Bradenton airport (SRQ) just got easier as well as less expensive. Frontier Airline recently announced they will be offering direct, non-stop flights from Atlanta beginning December 10, 2018. Flights between Sarasota Bradenton International Airport andHartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport will be offered three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. As an added bonus to this already great news, Frontier is offering special introductory fares as low as $39 each way! This is the latest in a series of new destinations offered via budget airlines. Earlier this year, SRQ and Frontier announced new non-stop flights to Cleveland and to Philadelphia.
